What is IQONIC?
IQONIC, starting on 1st of October, 2018 and with the duration of three and a half years is the European research and innovation initiative in increasing the quality, reconfigurability and recyclability of manufacturing optoelectronics. With a scalable zero-defect manufacturing platform, IQONIC will cover the overall process chain of optoelectrical parts, satisfying the industry’s striving for higher customisation and individualisation. This work will be supported by seventeen partners, represented by both industry and academia beneficiaries that have the ample experience in cutting edge technologies and active presence in the EU photonics and manufacturing.
What is IQONIC idea?
IQONIC will cover the design of new optoelectrical components and their optimised process chain, their assembly process, as well as their disassembly and reintroduction into the value chain. Therefore, this platform will comprise new hardware and software components interfaced with the current facilities through Internet of Things (IoT) and data management platforms, while being guided through eight scalable strategies at component, work-station and shop-floor level. This IQONIC concept has been built with the utmost objective to provide new solutions addressing the needs for flexibility, efficiency and sustainability, bringing innovative and competitive products to the market, face future challenges regarding standards and legislation, and spread the knowledge to as many sectors of the European manufacturing industry as possible
Why are we in the project?
ATLANTIS Engineering will contribute in addressing defect severity and decision support for optimum response to a defect that will led to an incensement in both flexibility and the product quality. Furthermore, the business logic of a company will be enhanced as well, through the implementation of a new process of reverse supply chain. In this way, the current optoelectrical businesses will be provided with the critical information and necessary actions that will advance the zero-defect manufacturing within the Industry 4.0.
